Waikato Official Regional Visitor Guide 2025

  1. Industry
  2. Partner with us
  3. Visitor Guide

Unfortunately, given the current economic landscape, we’ve made the challenging decision to put the Waikato Visitor Guide 2025 on hold. We plan to revisit this decision next year to determine if the project remains viable.

Elevate your business with the 2025 Waikato Official Regional Visitor Guide

Each year Hamilton and Waikato Tourism produces the only Official Regional Visitor Guide for the Waikato Region.

This DL sized booklet is a self-funding and not-for-profit project used as a guide to the Waikato region and provides those traveling with information on walking, cycling, family-friendly activities, accommodation, dining, and more within the region.

While preparing for our reduced funding levels, our initial plan was to cease developing the regional Visitor Guide. However, discussions with key stakeholders clearly indicated the Visitor Guide delivers a fair value, although a smaller/streamlined version with tighter distribution would be more appropriate.

We’ve listened; we've revamped the 2025 Waikato Official Regional Visitor Guide. Bookings are now open!

What's new?
  • New design: the Visitor Guide will have a fresh, modern look to complement and align with our website.
  • Digital focus: In addition to the printed guide, we're launching a digital version for on-the-go visitors. Plus, you’ll have access to the Visitor Point Digital Circuit website for additional exposure.
  • Simplified ad booking process: We’ve combined the booking form and content submission into a single, streamlined step for a seamless and fast experience.
Why list your business?
  • Reach a wider audience: Tap into the thousands of visitors who are exploring the mighty Waikato.
  • Boost your online presence: Drive traffic to your website
  • Enhance your brand visibility: Position your business as a must-visit destination.
  • Unlock additional benefits, valued at $550: Receive free “Enhanced Listing” on waikatonz.com, 6 month free listing on www.visitorpoint.co.nz, and access to Waikato Hot Deals platform
  • Priority for media hosting and media pitch inclusion: Opportunity to be featured in top publications such as Kia Ora Magazine, Waikato News, etc.
  • Distribution: Auckland region, Auckland Airport, Christchurch Airport, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Waikato region, Interislander, regional isites and visitor centres.
Advertising Options

We’ve streamlined our listings to enhance simplicity and efficiency. Moving forward, there will be one type of advert: an enhanced listing. This change enables a straightforward process for advertisers, making it easier than ever to place an ad in our Visitor Guide.  You are welcome to utilise a listing for each of your product/tour options!

There will be a maximum of 7 listings per page, resulting in these being larger and more eligible than previous listings.

Price per Listing:  $470 + GST

Limited spots available!

We're reducing the number of pages in the 2025 Waikato Official Regional Visitor Guide to achieve a more sustainable approach. This means space is limited! By focusing on digital connections and online listings, we're also enhancing the visitor experience and providing more opportunities for you to connect with potential customers.

You will be entering your Listing details for the Guide on this Booking Form – as such, you need to be prepared with your 25-word blurb and 1 high-resolution image.

Distribution

Distribution of 40,000 Visitor Guides will be targeted to assist those who are visiting our region. Below are some of the ways in which the guide is distributed:

  • Visitor Point Distribution network into Auckland, Auckland Airport, Christchurch Airport, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua  and locally in Waikato;
  • Visitor Point Warehousing (available for isites and businesses to order stock online)
  • National HWT sales calls and exhibition events
  • Hamilton Airport display
  • Conference and event delegate and crew packs
  • Industry engagement events
  • Online via waikatonz.com
  • Media packs
This is a self-funding project

The Visitor Guide is a self-funded project – financial commitment from industry pays for the development, design, print and distribution of the Guide. Therefore, should required advertising commitments not be achieved by 30 September 2024, we need to reserve the ability to cancel the project. This eventuality is covered in the Visitor Guide Terms & Conditions.
