Nestled in Hamilton’s Claudelands suburb, Jubilee Park offers an easy escape from the sounds of city life.

A great short Hamilton walking trail, the Jubilee Park boardwalk is perfect for children and pushchairs. The trail navigates through a Kahikatea forest remnant, providing insight into what Hamilton would have looked like before modern settlement.

The trail is best done as a loop, with entrances on both Brooklyn Road, Boundary Road and from Claudelands Park.

The park was once part of a 200-hectar forest, dominated by Kahikatea, Rimu and Matai. Developments have seen the forest shrink over the years to its current size, with some of the remaining trees part of the original forest.
